Question 1

Is penile implant surgery in Turkey as safe as in the US or Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All procedures are performed in JCI-accredited hospitals using the same FDA-approved implant devices (Coloplast Titan, AMS 700) available in American hospitals. Dr. Tas follows international surgical protocols including zero-infection bundles, antibiotic-coated devices, and the no-touch technique.

Question 2

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul for penile implant surgery?

Accepted Answer

Plan for 7-8 days total. This includes pre-operative assessment (1 day), surgery and hospital stay (2 days), hotel recovery (3-4 days), and final check-up before departure.

Question 3

Can I get reimbursed by my US or Canadian insurance for penile implant surgery abroad?

Accepted Answer

Many US insurance plans, including Medicare and VA, cover penile implants when medically necessary. Safe Urology provides detailed medical reports, itemized invoices, and procedure codes (CPT 54405/54400) to support your reimbursement claim. We recommend checking with your insurer before travel.

Question 4

What if I have complications after returning home from Turkey?

Accepted Answer

Complications are rare with an infection rate under 1%. Safe Urology provides 24/7 WhatsApp access to Dr. Tas's team for 6 months post-surgery. They also coordinate with your local urologist and provide a comprehensive discharge summary. Manufacturer warranties apply globally.

Question 5

Do American or Canadian citizens need a visa to visit Turkey?

Accepted Answer

Both US and Canadian citizens can obtain a Turkish e-Visa online at evisa.gov.tr in minutes. The cost is approximately $50 for US citizens or $60 for Canadian citizens. No embassy visit is required.

Question 6

Which penile implant brand is best - Coloplast Titan, AMS 700, or Rigicon?

Accepted Answer

The best implant depends on your anatomy, medical history, and goals. Coloplast Titan offers excellent rigidity and girth expansion, AMS 700 LGX provides a natural feel with length and girth expansion, and Rigicon is ideal for patients seeking maximum expansion. All brands have over 90% satisfaction rates. Dr. Tas will recommend the most appropriate device during your consultation.

Question 7

When can I resume sexual activity after penile implant surgery?

Accepted Answer

Most patients can resume sexual activity 4-6 weeks after surgery. Dr. Tas provides a detailed recovery timeline and schedules video follow-ups at weeks 2, 4, and 6 to monitor your progress and clear you for activity.

Question 8

Can I combine penis enlargement with a penile implant in Istanbul?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Dr. Tas offers combined procedures including penile implant with girth enhancement or the comprehensive Spartacus Package. This can be discussed during your virtual consultation to determine the best approach for your goals.
